Heute morgen kam eine Mail von Symantec: Backup Exec 15 stünde bereit und ich könnte die 1,6 GB herunterladen. Gesägt tun getan, ausgepackt, 2 GB ISO-file kommt raus. An die VM gehängt und Installation gestartet.
Im Installationsprozess gibts dann den deutlichen Hinweis BE 15 habe ein modernes neues Interface - na, ich bin gespannt!
Die geschätzte Installationszeit von 15 Symantec-Minuten war in 3 Minuten durch. Danach ein reboot und ein ernüchterter Blick auf das tolle neue GUI. Sah so aus wie immer, Screenshot erspare ich mir mal.
Danach noch wie immer die Remote-Agens aktualisiert. Das wars. Unspannend entspannt! :-)

Solved: Symantec BackupExec Hotfix 354875 and 358409
If anyboday knows why these updates are crashing and fail without any logs, please write a comment. I read all the KB-articles and installed it using the .exe, but not chance...
Update: Install Windows Installer 4.5 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=5a58b56f-60b6-4412-95b9-54d056d6f9f4&displayLang=de), reboot your machine and install the hotfixes twice(!) again... it works!
